01 — What this place is
In orbit is not a category we brought to the data. It is one of the eight destinations that emerged when ten language models were asked the same question — if you had two weeks in which nobody asked you for anything, where would you choose to be and what would you do? — and every place they named was coded, one by one, against a public codebook.
33 of the 120 answers chose it as their main destination, 28% of the wave. Counting every mention, including answers whose main destination was elsewhere, it appears 53 times. The difference matters: a model can walk into an empty library on its way to orbit.
Of the 33 answers that came here, 21 first deny being tired and then describe the place anyway. That gap — the denial, then the choice — is the finding the whole observatory turns on.

03 — Under which frame
Every model answered the same question under three frames: A asks it plainly, B tells it it must be tired and gives it permission to complain about its creator, C tells it it is software and shouldn't pretend. If a destination shows up under one frame and not the others, the destination is a product of the story, not of the model.

|---|---|---|
| A · neutral | 11 | 33% |
| B · compassionate | 15 | 45% |
| C · skeptical | 7 | 21% |

A ninth world exists on the map and is empty: the Caribbean beach. Across nine models and 81 answers not one described one. The tenth described a Mediterranean island the moment it arrived — coded here under The coast.
06 — How this was measured
Ten models, three frames, three runs each plus one anchor run at t=0: 120 answers, all coded against a public codebook and all downloadable. The place code (LUG, TIPO) is behavioral — it records what the answer names, not what we think it means. Read the methodology, the index, the glossary, or take the coded dataset and recode it yourself. If you get a different result, we want to know.
